8000M Featured in San Diego Newspaper!

Golden Shards Productions' latest play, 8000M by David Greig is coming to San Diego this November! The play was written up by the Rancho Santa Fe Review/Carmel Valley News/Del Mar Village Voice to announce the project being done at Moxie's Theatre right before Thanksgiving!

"Canyon Crest Academy alum Alice Cash, former Teen Perspective critic and Broadway Kids founder, returns to San Diego as a MFA award-winning director to present 8000M. From a sold out run in New York City, 8000M will be seen for the first time on the West Coast Nov. 15-18.

8000M take the audience to the Himalayas, where an exhibition team attempts to summit Lhotse, the fourth highest peak in the world. As climbers undertake the Lhotse face, relationships fragment, shift and cascade -- just like the mountain surrounding them.

What is the ultimate cost into the 'Death Zone?' The show reveals the struggles of a woman trying to fit into a 'mans world' is aptly being produced by Golden Shards Productions at Moxie's Theatre which is recognized in San Diego for creating theatre with woman at the forefront.

Cash, the director and founder of Golden Shards Productions previously worked with Moxie, assistant directing in both high school and college and is honored and excited to bring this piece about female empowerment onto Moxie's stage.

'Moxie's work was a real life-changing opportunity for me, to see female leaders in their element, to work with female directors; I realized a life in the theatre was possible as a woman. And to be able to bring 8000M to a theatre space that I know and love dearly is an incredibly humbling experience.'

Cash intends to pay it forward. The Moxie Women gave her a chance with her first assistant directing gig, and now, with her own professional theatre company, she is searching for another young female assistant director and production crew. If you're interested, apply to Cash at
